Hurricane Sandy National Flood Insurance Program Claims Review

The National Flood Insurance Program has begun a review of claims filed by policyholders affected by Hurricane Sandy. The review is part of a broad process to reform the claims and appeals procedures.

Policyholders who have not pursued litigation or already received the maximum amount under their policy will have an opportunity to have their files reviewed.

On May 18, we began mailing letters to approximately 142,000 National Flood Insurance Program policyholders who filed claims resulting from Hurricane Sandy.
